Shine in the World International Ministries (SWIM) was started in 2005 by World Evangelist Sammy Wanyonyi with a clear vision to:
1) Share the gospel message of Jesus Christ with communities in the Midwest and Eastern Africa; and
2) Raise up and equip church, business, and community leaders with tools for servant leadership.
Since its inception, SWIM has brought ministry teams and festivals to numerous international countries including Rwanda, Kenya, India, Burundi, Malawi and the Democratic Republic of Congo. In addition to international outreach, SWIM hosts an annual event in the Midwest to reach hurting youth.
Through SWIM hosted festivals, more than 50,000 people have made commitments to follow Christ while nearly 2,000 pastors and Christian leaders in Eastern Africa have participated in leadership training conferences over the last five years. By partnering with the local churches and political leadership in the communities SWIM serves, we are able to serve holistically, meeting the specific and unique needs of the local people.
